WOTC has lapsed. Federal Empowerment Zones are on hold. And businesses that stop screening are guaranteeing they miss the credit entirely.

What qualifies:

  • Businesses currently hiring W-2 employees in states with active credit programs
  • Employers with locations in or near Federal Empowerment Zones
  • Companies that have hired in the past three years and have not yet claimed retroactive credits
  • Any business using a payroll provider for WOTC that has not audited credit capture rates

What this means for you:
